On March 5, 2024, Shanghai Yangshan Port successfully completed the first green methanol fuel filling operation for the newly delivered "CMA CGM OSMIUM" (13000TEU methanol dual-fuel container ship) of Dafei Group under strict safety supervision, with a filling volume of more than 3640 tons, setting a new record for the filling volume of green methanol per ship in China. This event is not only an important refueling operation, but also a key manifestation of the improvement of the service level of the Shanghai International Shipping Green Fueling Center, demonstrating the competitiveness of Shanghai Port in the global green shipping service field. At the background level, the global shipping industry is accelerating its transition to green and low-carbon. The implementation plan recently jointly issued by ten departments including the Ministry of Transport of China has provided strong policy support for the construction of a green fuel filling and trading center in Shanghai. In order to ensure the safety of this large-scale filling operation, Yangshan Port Maritime Safety Administration has built a three-dimensional supervision network of "remote monitoring (VTS artificial intelligence system CCTV) water cruise (sea patrol boat) on-site inspection" to carry out risk prevention, control and protection throughout the process. Since the completion of the first domestic green methanol refueling in Shanghai in April 2024, its cumulative refueling volume has ranked among the world's major ports, fully demonstrating China's determination and strength in promoting the green transformation of the shipping industry.
