Shanghai Maritime’s Precise Navigation Assistance Marks First Anniversary: The “Three Ports and One Route” Network Ushers in a New Speed for Logistics
Since its launch on March 18, 2025, the "Three Ports One Voyage" route, as the "maritime expressway" connecting the strategic regions of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao, has continuously demonstrated its exemplary effect under the precise full-process protection of the Shanghai maritime department, achieving zero accidents in safe operations and fruitful results in reducing logistics costs and increasing efficiency, injecting strong maritime momentum into smoothing domestic circulation and promoting high-quality regional economic development.
Since the first anniversary of its launch, the route has efficiently completed supporting container volume of 643,000 TEU, cumulatively safeguarding 217 mainline vessels and over 3,100 feeder vessels, successfully opening up the main logistics channel along the north-south coast, promoting Shanghai Port from a single logistics node to a core engine of regional development, and achieving the transformation of the port from traditional factor-driven to accelerated new quality productivity.
Safety is the cornerstone of shipping development. The Shanghai maritime department tackles challenges with "accuracy, precision, difficulty," building a solid safety defense line for the route. In risk assessment, it deepens collaboration with meteorological, oceanic, and neighboring maritime departments to provide precise guidance for enterprises to optimize production plans, constructing a multi-level risk prevention system. In dynamic supervision, it integrates smart maritime systems, CCTV, drones, patrol boats, and other means to conduct boarding inspections, urging rectification of vessel defects, comprehensively enhancing the regulatory efficiency of feeder container vessels. In emergency rescue, it scientifically sets up emergency standby points and equips emergency position markers for high-frequency risks such as container lashing and falling overboard, regularly conducting special drills and "door-to-door teaching," fully strengthening the emergency rescue protection network.
Efficient operation is the core value of the route. The Shanghai maritime department focuses on "speed, capacity," promoting port and shipping collaboration to improve quality and efficiency. It collaborates with ports and shipping to innovate and develop a "whole process" smart supervision platform for feeder container vessels, optimizing the configuration of Baonan anchorage, achieving "direct departure and arrival, direct entry and exit" of vessels, significantly enhancing port and shipping collaboration efficiency. It introduces "fully automatic twist-lock technology," upgrades the Luodong terminal twist-lock station equipment, creating a "twist-lock assembly line," increasing single vessel operation efficiency by 30%. Relying on efficient protection, the route achieves high-frequency direct south-north service of 3-4 days/class, improving overall timeliness by 20%-30% compared to traditional routes, reducing comprehensive logistics costs per container by 65% compared to road transport, providing solid support for cost reduction and efficiency improvement in manufacturing and commerce.
Green co-governance empowers high-quality development. The Shanghai maritime department deepens multi-party collaboration, promoting green transformation and safety co-governance in shipping. It deepens "commercial and fishing co-governance," jointly establishing a joint management mechanism with agriculture, rural, pilotage, terminal, and ship agency units, conducting special rectification and safety promotion for commercial and fishing vessel collision prevention, effectively preventing safety risks. It relies on the "precise portrait" system for full-process verification of crew qualifications, preventing human risks from the source. It innovatively implements the "shore power electronic delivery order" system, strengthening shore power usage supervision and promotion, achieving 100% shore power access for route vessels, using green shipping to assist in the construction of an eco-friendly modern port.
Next, the Shanghai maritime department will continue to optimize the regulatory and service system, precisely aligning with the needs of port and shipping enterprises, assisting in the safe operation of the route, and further reducing costs and increasing efficiency, providing stronger maritime protection for constructing a new development pattern of domestic and international dual circulation.
