The article reports the latest progress of the third-phase expansion project of the ore terminal in the Caofeidian port area of Tangshan Port in Hebei Province. As the only ore wharf in Hebei that can dock 400000-ton ships, this project aims to break through the original berth length limit, extend the wharf coastline to the east by 120 meters through "micro-transformation", and expand the auxiliary system to make the berth total length 910 meters. This key transformation has realized the operation mode of "two-wheel docking", that is, two 400000-ton giant ships can be connected at the same time, forming a "40 N" flexible berthing combination, thus increasing the designed annual throughput capacity of the wharf to 37 million tons. Caofeidian Port is an important port for foreign trade iron ore unloading, which will significantly improve the efficiency of port operations and directly benefit the hinterland-intensive steel industry. The investment of the project is about 0.3 billion yuan, which reflects the idea of "small investment and great results. At the same time, the ore storage and transportation logistics project behind the port is also advancing to enhance the static reserve capacity. As a transit hub for bulk materials in the north, Tangshan Port is comprehensively improving its comprehensive service capacity through the construction of 12 port projects, including this project, and unswervingly promoting its development strategy to the sea.
