Chizhou Port is accelerating its development to support the growth of green inland waterway logistics along the Yangtze River.
People's Daily Online, Beijing, March 20 (Reporter Wang Lianxiang) According to the official website of the Ministry of Transport, recently, the construction of the public wharf project at Dongliu Port Area of Chizhou Port is laying the foundation for the comprehensive integration of the "corridor-water combined transport" system by 2027 through technological innovation and reverse scheduling.
On the banks of the eastern section of the Yangtze River, more than 150 workers are collaborating between floating cranes and steel trusses for precise steel truss installation. "We are applying bridge structure forms to the construction of high-pile beam-type wharves, allowing for more scientific mechanical design to create safer wharves," said Dai Guanghui, Deputy Manager of Water Construction for the Dongliu Port Public Wharf Project. Since resuming work, the construction team has deployed three 90-ton crawler cranes, six vessels, and three dredging ship groups, working in shifts 24 hours a day. Currently, the construction progress of berths 1 and 2 has reached 50%. It is reported that the total length of the wharf shoreline is 650 meters, with plans to build four 5,000-ton general berths, designed for an annual throughput of 21.8 million tons.
Echoing the roar of water construction, the land construction site behind is equally bustling. As the "transit warehouse" before ore is loaded onto ships, the construction of the land area is crucial to the efficiency of the entire chain. Currently, the land construction site has deployed three tower cranes and 16 excavators, working day and night to seize progress, with earth excavation and backfill work completed at 90% and 80%, respectively.
From water to land, the entire port project is steadily advancing according to established milestones. Once the port area is fully operational, it will form an annual throughput capacity of 21.8 million tons, achieving integrated operation of mines, corridors, and ports. In the near future, a transportation corridor with an annual transport capacity of 80 million tons will traverse mountains and valleys, linking the mines of Yanghu Town, the industrial park of Dongliu Town, and the wharf in front, realizing "ore not touching the ground, dust not flying" green transportation.
