Tianjin has launched a new scheduled China-Central Asia freight train service via the Alashankou Pass.
China News Service, Tianjin, April 16 (Reporter Wang Junyan) On the 16th, Tianjin launched a new scheduled Central Asia train route exiting through the Alashankou port in Xinjiang.
A Central Asia train fully loaded with auto parts, mechanical equipment, and other goods departed from Tianjin Container Center Station in the early hours of the day, heading toward Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries.
This is another new Central Asia train route added after Tianjin launched a scheduled train route via the Horgos port. With this, Tianjin has established a logistics network exiting through both Alashankou and Horgos ports, covering Central Asian countries and further expanding Tianjin's land transportation channels connecting to Central Asia.

"Scheduled" operation means that the train runs on fixed points, fixed routes, fixed train numbers, and fixed schedules, and enjoys priority policies such as preferential allocation of trains, loading, and dispatching.
According to reports, currently, Tianjin's scheduled train route directly to Central Asia via Horgos operates once a week on a regular basis, primarily serving cross-border trade supply chains and covering areas such as Almaty in Kazakhstan and Tashkent in Uzbekistan. With the launch of the scheduled train route via Alashankou, cross-border goods will further strengthen connections with the Central Asian railway network and can directly reach all of Kazakhstan.
As an important node of the New Eurasian Land Bridge Economic Corridor, Tianjin Port has been focusing on building a multimodal transport system of "east-west connectivity and land-sea integration" in recent years. Currently, Tianjin Port has opened China-Europe (Central Asia) train routes via Erlianhot, Alashankou, and Horgos, with transport volumes ranking among the top coastal ports.
To ensure the punctual and smooth dispatch of the trains, Tianjin Container Center Station has pre-coordinated and allocated empty train cars, optimized operational processes, strengthened team collaboration, and improved loading efficiency. Tianjin Xingang Customs has innovated customs clearance models such as "multi-point operations, rapid release" and "direct port-to-yard connection," minimizing the transfer time of goods from unloading at the port to the railway yard.
Tianjin Port Group stated that it will take the opening of this new Central Asia train route as an opportunity to continuously enhance the logistics network layout and build an international logistics corridor connecting Central Asia and Europe through Tianjin Port. (End)
