Guangzhou Port: Expected to complete container throughput growth of 7.7 year-on-year in January-February 2026

Guangzhou Port disclosed the key data of port operation in February and January-February 2026 through the evening announcement. In February 2026, the company expects to complete a container throughput of 1.8 million TEUs and a cargo throughput of 41.437 million tons, both of which are down 3.6 per cent from the same period last year. However, from the cumulative data from January to February 2026, the company's operations showed a positive growth trend: the cumulative expected container throughput was 4.329 million TEUs, an increase of 7.7 percent over the same period last year; the cumulative expected cargo throughput was 93.734 million tons, an increase of 4.1 percent over the same period last year. This data announcement reveals that in the operation of Guangzhou Port at the beginning of the year, although the monthly performance in February declined, the overall growth of container and cargo throughput was still achieved in January-February, especially the significant growth of container business, showing the overall business resilience and growth potential of the port at the beginning of the year.
