On February 27, 2024, the Weifang Port area of Shandong Port Bohai Bay Port officially opened the "Weifang-Cambodia" grocery route, marking the first direct grocery route from northern China to Cambodia. The cargo of the first voyage includes 75 engineering vehicles, vulcanizers, boilers and other equipment, setting a new record for the batch export of single-ship vehicles in Bohai Bay Port. This route is an important practice of the Bohai Bay Port's "Nanyang" supply chain brand. With Sihanoukville Port as the hub, it radiates the entire ASEAN region through road-rail combined transportation, and builds a new logistics channel for Shandong to connect with Southeast Asia. In operation, Weifang Port innovatively adopted the technology of vehicle stacking and material co-ordination to greatly improve the utilization rate of cabin capacity. Customs, border inspection, maritime affairs and other departments have jointly introduced convenient measures such as green channel, "palm office" and "zero waiting" to ensure the high efficiency and stability of routes. In recent years, Bohai Bay Port has successively opened routes to Vietnam and Indonesia. The opening of the Cambodian route will further expand the export of diversified sources of goods, enhance the service capacity of the whole chain of "cars to sea", and help the high-quality development of regional foreign trade.
