Shanghai Customs has supervised a total of 64000 people entering and exit the Shanghai Oriental Hub International Business Cooperation Zone.
Shanghai, March 13 (China News Service) (Reporter Jiang Yu) According to statistics released by Shanghai Customs on the 13th, as of March 11 this year, Shanghai Customs has cumulatively supervised 64,000 entries and exits of personnel participating in international exhibitions, business exchanges, and international training at the Shanghai Oriental Hub International Business Cooperation Zone, with 3,574 vehicle entries and exits of goods.
The Shanghai Oriental Hub International Business Cooperation Zone is China's first new special type of area. The pilot zone of the cooperation area will implement closed management trial operations starting from December 28, 2025.
The 2026 China Home Appliances and Consumer Electronics Expo (hereinafter referred to as AWE) opened in Shanghai on the 12th. This exhibition adopts the "one exhibition, two zones" model for the first time. In addition to the Shanghai New International Expo Center venue, a 30,000-square-meter cutting-edge technology exhibition area was set up in the Shanghai Oriental Hub International Business Cooperation Zone, marking the first large-scale exhibition event since the activation of the Oriental Hub International Business Cooperation Zone.
Shanghai Customs has moved its "window" forward and implemented precise measures, launching special services such as customs officers stationed for consultation, robot "exhibition patrollers," and "one-time inspection" for exhibits, achieving "zero distance" policy services and "zero delay" for exhibits entering the zone. Facing the characteristics of AWE exhibits with wide sources, diverse categories, and high technological content, Shanghai Customs adheres to a "one exhibition, one policy" approach, advancing services to the "first kilometer" of exhibits entering the zone.
Inside the exhibition hall, a sleek and agile intelligent robot is shuttling between booths, attracting the attention of many exhibitors. This is the "special exhibition patroller" specially deployed by Shanghai Customs for the AWE Oriental Hub exhibition area. Customs officers can view real-time booth conditions through the camera carried by the robot, conducting intelligent monitoring of exhibit displays and personnel flow. The robot also has voice interaction capabilities, providing remote customs policy consultation services.
"In the past, we had to go to the customs hall to ask questions, but now the robot answers directly beside the booth, and customs services are available anytime, anywhere," said Wang Yiru, a representative of an exhibiting company.
In terms of personnel entry and exit, the Oriental Hub International Business Cooperation Zone has significant policy advantages. Customs has extended the "first line open, second line controlled" system innovation from goods to natural persons. After entering the zone, the checked luggage of overseas personnel can be directly transported to the passenger's designated location or hotel within the zone after preliminary machine inspection and other embedded supervision by customs, achieving "separate human and luggage flow, direct luggage delivery." After the exhibition, overseas personnel can choose to conveniently handle customs exit and entry procedures to enter the country or handle customs exit procedures directly to the airport, truly achieving "freedom of movement and seamless customs clearance."
