Last week, Zhengzhou cotton prices fell, with CF01 dropping to 15315 yuan/ton and National cotton 3128B at 16220 yuan/ton. The bearish macroeconomic atmosphere, driven by geopolitical conflicts and increased inflation expectations, is leading to subdued demand and tightened US dollar liquidity. While the supply side remains stable with significant commercial inventory growth, downstream demand from the textile industry is weak. Yarn production continues at low levels, with rising inventories and limited proactive purchasing by enterprises. Despite these challenges, limited warehouse receipts and higher seed cotton costs may create growth potential in the medium to long term for Zhengzhou cotton prices.
